The 2018 Ford Escape: The Perks of the new SEL Trim

Ford's compact crossover, the Ford Escape provides a comfortable and capable option for drivers interested in an SUV, but not overly keen on driving something larger. Recently updated for 2018, the newest model of the Ford Escape adds in valuable new options that expand on the already solid package that the Escape is known for.

The biggest improvement to the Escape for 2018 is the addition of the new SEL trim. Adding in amenities like leather seating and a power tailgate, it provides another option for drivers interested in buying the Escape. It also comes with an 8-inch Infotainment system that's compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

One of four total trims, the SEL joins the S, SE, and Titanium models. These different versions have access to a range of additional technology and features, such as dual-zone climate control, Sync 3, built-in Wi-Fi and more. It also has three powertrains: a 2.5-liter inline-4 and two turbocharged options. The Escape's most powerful engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 has been rated for 245 horsepower, 275 pounds-feet of torque, and a 3,500-pound towing capacity.

The 2018 Ford Escape is one of the most solid compact SUVs currently available on the modern market.
